A Little Something About Me

I am a 30 year graphic designer who is also a political junkie and car guy.
I had always recognized with this country's Democrat party. But things started to change. Shortly after I voted for Bill Clinton (v.1.0), a few months into his first term, he raised taxes the highest percentage ever. I remembered specifically his campaign promise not to raise taxes. I was pissed. To add insult to taxpayer injury he made them retroactive.
That started me on the road to analyzing the what and why of my political support. What did I really believe and how did that jibe with the political platform of the two major parties?
By the time the Clinton 2.0 was up for a vote I had changed my voting allegiance weakly to Republican. Then one night, a news image was displayed that is still burned into by synapses: That of a union guy, supporting Clinton, pummeling an old lady that was holding a anti-Clinton sign at a rally in Detroit. But what made me flip was that although the attack was broadcast nationally, not one Democrat supporter or allied organization denounced the very public attack. Not one. In fact, jokes were made. Talk about validating a choice.
More a little later . . .
